First, cadets wakes up as early as 3 am to start your morning duties which includes cleaning, laundry and having their superiors boot polished, when done, they get ready for muster parade which starts around 4 am and morning jogging follows.

After morning exercises and training sessions, its then time for breakfast which will be at the dining hall at 6 am, before getting ready to attend lectures with from around 8 am to 4 pm daily from Mondays to Fridays.
In the evenings after your day lectures, it always begins with long distance marathon before dinner, which is after followed with camp fire drill.
After a long day of training and lectures, cadets are to go to bed at 11 pm, it will be lights out at 11:30 pm and no cadets are expected to be seen wandering around.

What happens on first day of NDA?
On your first day at the Nigerian defense Academy (NDA) you will be ordered to carry your bags on your head as you frog jump from the main gate to the administrative block.
Alot will ask if there parents can drop them off at the administrative block, well the answer is a big no, you parents or guardian will be asked to leave from the main gate where you are dropped.

There are no rules or regulations stating that being in a relationship is an offense, so some cadets at the academy are in relationships while a good number of cadets are not.

How many hours does a NDA cadet sleep?
Cadets at NDA usually gets seven (7) to eight (8) hours long of sleep, just as i explained on how the routine is at the academy, Cadets usually begins there day at about 4 am in the morning, starting their normal daily routine with jogging, and after that go for breakfast before lectures at 8 am – 4pm or earlier.
After that, there are usually other side jobs (military training) that are done in the Evening before and after dinner before cadets can finally go to bed at around 11 pm to 11:30 pm at night. Siesta are usually given during the day for cadets to rest up, but its not always given.

The formal way of dressing at the Nigerian defense Academy (NDA) is the khaki dress with well Polished black desert boots. Khaki dress is made out of pure cotton, well starched and perfectly ironed. Your khaki dress is meant to be clean well starched and iron at all times.
